It's been a whirlwind of a new year, especially since I last finished a board game. It started off with a trip to Barcelona, followed by a recent day trip over to Gettysburg.
I've been initiating Ben in the great Avalon Hill Gettysburg board game that saw my own debut into wargaming. He's taken to it quite well (but I figure he'd better enjoy handling 5/8" counters).
Playing as the Union, he's had a tough time keeping AP Hill and Ewell at bay on the first day. We're currently into the second day, and Ben's been forced to fall back on Little Round Top. It's looking bleak, but as the Confederates, I don't have many reinforcements left. Ben can afford the attrition, we think.
This marks the current front line (after I'd bumped into the table on accident). Rest assured, the pieces have been reorganized. After our second session, we took a trip to Gettysburg for MLK day, and we had a grand ol' time walking around the battle site on a beautiful, sunny day.
